First Bonefish/ Permit Cash Tourn.
We put together a very simple format tourn. to see if it was something that people would enjoy. We didn’t promote the tourn. or do anything to get people to fish. We limited the area to Biscayne Bay just to make the meeting place easier for everyone.
The format was simple who ever catches the longest bonefish and permit would split the entry fees. There was no restrictions on how you could fish ( chum, fly, bait, spin, yo-yo, ect) you just needed a picture of the fish against the measuring device I supplied and that was it. We also picked a 5 person tourn. committee at random to look and verify the winner.
The result was Robbie won the largest bonefish with a 26″ and Russ won the permit with a 29″. They each received $900.00 for their efforts.
Now that we know the format will be a success we’re going to put on these little tourn. every couple of months. Stay tuned for the next date, species and location.
